We are a group of area livestock, produce and food producers who are interested in a community based non profit organization that will facilitate purchase and distribution of our products on a regional basis. We are in the process of acting on a feasibility study completed in 2003 for purchasing and operating a mobile slaughter facility that will serve in Northern CA, Southern OR and other regional areas as needed.
This unit will be based in Siskiyou County and run and operated by the Cal Ore Agricultural Producers Association.
This association is to be many faceted, and will include but not be limited to the following.
1. Certified organic Mobile USDA slaughter facility
2. Certified organic USDA and FDA community kitchens
3. Certified organic Warehouse and shipping center
4. Community Supported Agricultural Center for all small farms in Northern Ca and Southern OR.
5. Ecologically sound compost center.
5. Research and development of markets for sustainable agriculture in rural Siskiyou and outlying communities
